All our inflatable paddle boards are made to last, so you can keep your board for a long time and reducing unnecessary resource consumption.
Sunsup boards are lightweight, easy to store, and can be taken virtually anywhere in their compact rucksack. However, like any piece of equipment, they require proper care to ensure they last as long as possible. Here are some tips to help you take care of your inflatable paddle board:
1. Rinse your board after each use: This is one of the most important things you can do to care for your paddle board. This will help prevent corrosion and prolong the life of your board but make sure not to allow any water to get into the valve! Simply rinse your board off with fresh water to remove any dirt, sand, or debris that may have accumulated during your paddle session. If you've got some tough dirt, avoid using harsh any chemical products that can harm the environment and potentially damage your board. Instead opt for a solution of water and dishwashing liquid or soap made specifically for paddle boards. This solution is effective in removing dirt from your board without harming the environment.
2. Dry your board before storing it: It's essential to make sure your board is completely dry before storing it. You can either air dry it or use a towel to remove any excess moisture. Avoid storing your board while it's still damp, as this can lead to mould and mildew growth.
3. Store in a cool, dry place: When you're not using your paddle board, store it away from direct sunlight. Exposure to UV rays can cause the material to degrade over time, so it's important to keep it out of the sun as much as possible. Avoid storing your board in wet or damp areas and if you store your board in a board bag, make sure it is completely dry before putting it away to prevent and any mould growth.
4. Don't over-inflate your board: While it may be tempting to pump up your board to the maximum recommended PSI, it's important to leave a little bit of space for air to expand in hot weather. Over-inflating your board can lead to damage and reduce the lifespan of your board. Instead, pump it up to a few PSI below the recommended maximum to ensure it stays firm and stable.
5. Avoid sharp edges and rocks: When you're out on the water, be mindful of any sharp edges or rocks that could damage your board. Avoid dragging your board over gravel or sharp objects and be careful when setting it down on land. Not only could sharp edges leave an ugly scratch ruining the nice pattern of your paddle board but it could also damage the performance of the board. It's best to carry your board whenever possible.
6. Show Your Board Some Love: Don't sit on the board when it is on land as this will not only damage the fins but it also puts unnecessary pressure on your board.
Caring for your inflatable paddle board doesn't have to be complicated. If you treat your Sunsup paddle board with care and respect, it will last for many adventures to come. As a brand that values sustainability, we encourage you to take good care of your board so you can keep it for the long term.
